The Crafted Canine – Boutique Dog Grooming Salon

The Crafted Canine is a modern boutique grooming salon built around exceptional grooming, thoughtful handling, and a polished, welcoming client experience.

We’re looking for a professional dog stylist who takes genuine pride in their work—from beautiful, balanced grooms to keeping their workspace guest-ready and helping create a calm, welcoming experience for every dog and owner who walks through our doors.

We believe the details matter. We maintain high standards for grooming, cleanliness, organization, client service, and the overall presentation of our salon. We’re looking for someone who naturally shares that mindset and takes pride in being part of a professional, elevated environment.

Our goal is simple: beautiful grooms, happy dogs, proud owners, and a salon that feels as good to work in as it does to visit.

Our stylists are scheduled for quality-focused grooming with thoughtfully managed appointments and a balanced workload.

 

Compensation & Benefits

• $20/hour guaranteed base pay + you keep 100% of tips

• Stylists typically average ~$30/hour total earnings with tips

• Up to $1,000 annual tool allowance

• Paid Time Off (PTO)

• Professional tool sharpening covered and coordinated by the salon

• Stylists may groom their personal dogs at the salon, space permitting

• End-of-day cleaning is handled by professional cleaners so you can focus on your craft

Schedule & Workload

• Full-time position with a flexible 4–5 day schedule based on stylist preference.

• Typical workload of 4–6 full grooming appointments per shift depending on size, coat type, and service complexity.

• Quality-focused scheduling with thoughtfully spaced appointments to maintain a calm, organized workflow and minimize overlap in shared grooming areas

• Most clients book and prepay online, allowing for a streamlined and organized daily workflow

We specialize in clean, balanced grooming with a modern aesthetic, including fluffy and Asian fusion–inspired styles.

Creative color experience is a plus, though not required. We welcome stylists who are excited to grow and develop their artistic skills.

 

What the Job Includes

• Full-service grooming including bathing, blow drying, nail care, ear cleaning, styling, finishing work, and occasional color services

• Before and after photos along with client updates

• Client check-in and check-out responsibilities, including welcoming clients, confirming appointment details, processing payments, and communicating service information

• Responding to client inquiries and appointment-related communication in a timely, professional manner

• Maintaining the salon’s high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation, ensuring workstations and shared spaces remain polished, orderly, and guest-ready throughout the day.

 

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has professional dog grooming experience or has graduated from an accredited grooming program

• Is reliable, punctual, organized, and professional

• Takes pride in producing high-quality grooms with strong attention to detail and an interest in modern and creative styling, including fluffy trims and Asian fusion.

• Communicates clearly and professionally with clients in person and through messages

• Can work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment

• Is comfortable safely handling and lifting dogs of various sizes, including large breeds

• Is open to learning new techniques and improving their skills

 

A strong portfolio of grooming work is required.

Recent graduates from an accredited grooming program are welcome to apply.
